Why does the process of meiosis create greater genetic diversity more quickly than asexual reproduction does?

because with sex cells, (the product of meiosis), there will be genetics from two individuals, however with asexual reproduction, such as budding, it is simply a copy of the one set of genetic material with no addition of genetics from a mate, as in the sexual reproduction.
