Strokes are mean and nasty!! Dad said it felt like somebody tickled his hair with a fine wire. He new it happened but didn't know what it was. He owned his own shop and next he started drop wrenches and other tools, still didn't know what was happening. when he got home he dropped his coffee, and was slurring his words. Mom tool him to the doctor, he said yup it's a stroke! Then, unheard of today.. he told mom to take dad home pack a bag then take him to the hospital. My brother and I got home and had to carry him out to the car. Two more bad strokes that night. I was very young and didn't really understand what happened and still resent the fact that I never new my dad even though he did make it and lived for several years that event changed him, for lack of a better term it made him mean. So thats what a stroke could do... Today they would be giving drugs the minute they new it was a stroke, and more than likely prevented the other strokes that night. According to the doc the two at night were the game changer.
