My drink bottle leaked in my handbag soaking my mobile phone, it still works but I've lost the screen, is it beyond redemption?? I really don't want to lose all my contacts, I know they are still there but I can't see them

A similar thing happened to me once. The phone did eventually dry itself out by leaving it in the sun (On a window sill) But it took a long time.I bought a $59 cheapie & put my sim card in it for the time being. End result.I am still using the $59 cheapie.LOL.

    JHH's advice sounds good.

Pull the phone apart and take out the SIM card and bury all the pieces in a bowl of dried rice. Leave it for 24 hours and see if that doesn't do the trick....

Make sure if you get it going again that you save all your contacts to you SIM card. This way as long as there's nothing wrong with the card, you can not loss your contacts list if the phone itself fails.

Thanks everyone, I will do all of the above, and hopefully won't do anything so silly again (wrong lid on the bottle!)
