I always seem to be the unlucky one in my family . My brother got the elevator, and I got the shaft :-\

I have had them twice, and they are a deep pain in the muscle fiber, and a rash, usually at back and over half of the torso.  Much worse if on face, especially the eyes.

Had them on my cheek (face) last year, bloody painful little spots!

Shingles were the beginning of the end for my mother. I’m surprised they weren’t what killed her right off the bat…...

Shingles is a painful rash, usually taking several weeks to settle, that occurs most often on one side of the trunk or face.

It occurs only if you've had chicken pox when you were a kid. Anyhow, I had shingles , about a year and 1/2 ago. It's not as bad if you go to the Dr. as soon as it breaks out. There's a capsule that you take 5 X a day to prevent the singles rash from blistering and weeping and getting scabby. I haven't had any post shingles pain, either. ......just mild itching
