The Coriolis force is part of the reason that
hurricanes in the Northern Hemisphere rotate
counterclockwise. If the Earth didn’t spin, we
would have wicked 300 mph winds from the
tropics to the poles and back again. The Earth
does spin however, and in the mid-latitudes, the
Coriolis force causes the wind—and other
things—to veer to the right. It is responsible for
the rotation of hurricanes.

Coriolis effect en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coriolis_effect
I consider the Coriolis effect one of the more interesting facts that can be easily demonstrated and explained over a broad range of effects that occur globally. Although our observations and relational pattern recognition of this effect is high, there are many mysteries that are not approprately linked to this influence. A mountain in N.California is slowly rotating as a result of this effect and the geology of the region.
