What happens to the £ Sterling and the Euro if the US defaults?

The US looks like it might default on its debt of $14.3 TRILLION . What effect will this have on The £ and the euro?

The UK pound stirling will often get stronger. The Euro at the moment is very poor, with countries like Greece, Ireland & Portugal having serious problems.

My situation is that I live in the Eurozone but my money arrives in £ Sterling. £1 now buys 1.13 euros but a few years ago £1 would have bought 1,50 euros.

Yes as you well know the Euro is not a good buy if you are in the UK. It has somewhat damaged the holiday industry here, with holidays to Eurozone being hit badly. A long time before it gets better.

Yes indeed. As you well know  in the UK going on holiday - the Euro is not a good buy. The UK holiday trade has been badly hit with the Euro. It will be long time before it recovers.
