I think it's about the impression you leave with everyone you come across, just smiling at a stranger can usually brighten up their day.
When I was younger I thought life was all about me, as I grew up and did a lot more volunteer work I started to realize that life is really about everyone else. When you do something nice or helpful for someone else it make you feel so good inside, it's a funny thing. Helping other people actually help you in return.
If you can be a good example of a person instead of a bad one that is something that gives people hope. Instead of being part of the problem, you are being part of the solution, people don't get to see enough of that in their daily lives. Just watching the local news can be depressing, even the world news with all of the wars and turmoil.
If people see you and think man that's a really good or happy person, why are they so different? That's a great thing, especially when people see that you really do care and that your not just some phony. I am also a Christian and hope that I can be a good example of one and not leave a negative impression on people I meet.

No thank you Randy. I'm sure there are others in need. I am not in need of prayer. I appreciate you asking first this time though.
Colleen, Yes, I have a lot of health problems, and I have been close to death at least 10 times in my life. But very time I have come closer to Christ because of what he did for me each time. If your on the hill all the time you don't need God, it's when your in the valley God is near. God gives some people a great life on earth who are nonbelievers but I'm more concerned of the life to come, I do pray that you and all can make it, thank God I do not have to make that decision. But God has rules to live by whether you believe it or not.

If I believed prayer worked, I'd pray that God remove your pain and improve your health but I'm going to assume that has been prayed for many, many times. It's still too bad that you believe God would have rules about acceptance into heaven. I still can not see ego in a spirit that can only love unconditionally.
There can be no sin in Heaven, Only ten rules and he knows we will fail on them, thats why we need a personal relationship If you slip He will forgive you over and over, but you have to ask with sincerely.
You know what I find funny? I see a LOT of Christians all in need prayer and Jesus because of all the trials and tribulations in their lives and yet, I have none. I might have a hard day here and there but my life is pretty free of any hardships I'd need to call on anyone over. I wonder why my life is so easy while the believers lives appear to be so full of angst, depression, pain and hard times. Does your God really test your devotion to him that much?

Lmao colleen, your been too biased, look around you, there are millions of humans that devote their whole life for their religion, it's what makes them up, sure, you have a normal life , bit's of hardness and softness. But i do believe you once said that you believe in god right, not the christian god i know but you still believe in a supreme being, so that means you do pray also for him to help you with everything, this is what everyone is doing also but the difference is they need god more than you do sometimes because they go through more hardships due to their own circumstances (poor people,sinners, etc) and yes, god does test his creations devotion. :)
Let's not make it "a lot" of christians, how about "some" christians? Some Protestants have unconventional way of following Jesus.
Sorry dh, I guess I was going by this site. I only ever see Christians commenting here. I can't think of any other religions being mentioned as a persons belief system?

No actually, I do not. I do not believe in prayer. I believe in myself and the ability to get through things. I make all my own choices and accept responsibility of all my choices. If I needed my hand held, I wouldn't be here to learn lessons for myself. I'm glad I don't have to go through all those devotion tests to prove to my God that I love Him. He knows my heart. That's all the proof He needs :)

Well, I can only go by who posts. I'm not saying all others are non existent.
I see no reason to pray when I believe everything works out the way it should. The closest I ever come to prayer is to say, "May the blessings be" meaning all will work exactly as God wills it to work. Prayer to me is showing one does not trust that God knows precisely what's going on and who needs help. I trust that God knows all and steps in when needed, if needed.
