I noticed today that comments in a thread (that weren't there this morning) showed up this afternoon, 5 days after they were posted. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

The site is playing up. I haven't been able to use Comment for about the last twenty minutes.

I had to go out & come back to read a notification.

one can comment on comments only if he has a comment maybe your the only one any comments?
