    if it says indoor use only does that mean i cant take it on carport to clean a rug

    Make sure the pavement under the carport (hopefully it's paved) is swept well. The carpet cleaner has enough suction to pull the sand or dirt off the pavement and into the carpet. Larger pieces of dirt or sand will not filter through the carpet and into the machine.

      It means don't try to vacuum the pavement, flower beds,  or lawn.  Make sure you are operating in a dry area and the rug is dry, too.
