Setting Up for the First Time

Make sure that the device isn't connected then insert the installation disk that came with the device. Click "Run Msetup4.exe" when the "AutoPlay" dialog appears.

Click "Continue" then click "Easy Install." Click "Install" then "Yes."

Click "Set up the printer and the computer for network use" then "Next." Connect the printer and turn it on. Click "Next" through the Setup Preparations dialogs. Then click "Check Wired LAN Connection." Click to "Automatically" set up LAN settings," then click "Next" and "Next" again. Click "Finish" then "Next." Complete the "User Registration" if you desire, then click "Exit" to exit installation. Eject the CD and restart your computer.
Setting Up Additional Computers

Insert the CD in another computer and repeat Steps 1 and 2, above. Make sure that the device isn't connected then insert the installation disk that came with the device. Click "Run Msetup4.exe" when the "AutoPlay" dialog appears.

Click "Continue" then click "Easy Install." Click "Install" then "Yes." Click "Set up only the computer for network use" then "Next."

Select "Automatic," then "Next" then choose the Pixma MX700 from the list. Click "next" then "Finish." Click "Next" then register the device if you wish to. Click "Exit." Repeat these steps on all other computers. You will now be able to scan and print using the MX700 as if it was connected directly to your own computer.
