True, but plastic can be recycled.
Yes but only to a point and then it does become waste. He only asked how paper was more important than plastic though I do not think "important" would be the correct word. Paper does require trees being cut down which does impact nature and the surrounding environment. On the other hand, plastic is made from an oil by product. Oil also impacts nature and the surrounding environment because of the drilling required to remove it from the earth. So, each can cause a disrupt in the environment but paper can completely break down and degrade compared to the plastics that can no longer be recycled and eventually becomes standing waste for centuries to come.
