    How to reset or disable chassis security issues which halt my machine

    I've had this computer around for awhile.  I want to give it to a relative, but I keep getting the chassis intrusion warning, then the computer halts.  I didn't see where the CMOS has a setting for this feature.

    That warning is from a small switch on your case cover it is just letting you know that your tower has been opened. Now you will need to reset the switch by entering the system BIOS & finding the setting to turn off the warning. To enter the BIOS, while your computer is starting keep tapping the DEL key. This should bring up the BIOS main screen, then use the arrow keys to navigate...

    This status is logged by the BIOS. To clear this BIOS Log you have to enter the BIOS setup. In the main menu you will find PC-Health, Chassis intrusion detect with three options:

    * enable
    * disable
    * reset
