Really! I hated dial up service, if you really wanted to go so far as to call it service!
In the early days of the www, dial up was fine, I can remember 300 baud. 56k. It was fine back then because graphic data was minimal, still took 15 minutes to download a 2 meg game. I was really lucky, i switched to cable in i think 1996, I was the only home in my neighborhood to have it, i know this because they sold it to me and then found that the cable in my neighborhood wouldn't carry the signal so they had to tear the streets up in my whole neighborhood. wow! was it fast. Then as time went on, more and more jumped on and my speed went down. I'm 28 down now, not the best but a million times faster than dialup. :)
