The first thing to check is your fuse panel to see if the fuse is blown. Usually the headlights will also not be working. If you have a good fuse and your headlights work have someone step on the brakes to see if the break lights work. if they work then you need to replace your bulbs. If they don't then you have a broken ground or hot wire to the tail lights.
