I would look at manual troubleshooting, however it seems like a circuit or sensor. These are all computerized now, so that seems like an electrical circuit problem. Although, you didn't say if it makes temperature, it could be thermocoupling, not sensing heat, thus no end to cycle. Or a humistatic sensor, not sensing the dryness, thus not shutting off. In your manual, do you have an 800 number, sometimes you can call a technician, they may give you an idea of what to check. Sometimes a problem may be worked on by someone with some skill, not requiring an actual service technician.. Good luck.
