I do this which may seem seriously unconventional, but works none the less...
I have a lap top and so this may not apply to you...
First I remove every single program that does not pertain to the project which in this case is watching something on your computer.
Then I get the biggest mixing bowl that I have and place the computer on top for air flow... this is after I have cleaned the computer with my computer cleaning thing. No name comes to mind as I have similar devices for applying glazes on pottery that cost me considerably less.
After all this is done, I hope for the best.
