        First thing to check is the air filter.make sure it's not clogged. If thats OK it may be the piston rings are wearing.Ask at the hardware/mower shop if you can buy a hotter spark plug.

            Did you recently put oil in it? Is there any possibility that the crankcase could have been over-filled? That will do it.  Did the gas put into it possibly have oil in it, that could have been intended for a weed wacker or something 2 cycle?
