I am sure you would, since I live on the east coast. Even NJ. and NY. have theire own, very pronaunced accent.

A native Calofornian to me would be a full blood native whos` family had the land prior to European settlement. You, cute as you may be do not portray any of the facial features associated with the original people.

I thought “Native Californian” meant that a person was born in a state and remained in the state.

Yes, if you go to the east coast. People from the west coast sound closer to the mid westerners. Sometimes I have a difficult time understanding someone from the deep south or someone from New York City. I am sure the feeling is mutual for them.

That’s Valley Girl talk. Several years ago that was how female mall rats spoke. Maybe they still do. I think it’s a California thing.
