FIRST CAR. Not a question, just an update.

My teenager bought his first car yesterday. He had a choice between a newer car he would be making payments on or an older car that he could pay cash for and own it free and clear. He chose the older car, a 2002 solid black Camaro. It's so awesome! I'm so proud of my kid, I wish you all could have seen the look on his face, "Priceless"!

Stop leading this kid astray! :)

For the young man and his first car. Remember that for every tire rotation and the car isn't moving forward (Burning rubber) you have removed sixty miles of wear from the tire. Could get expensive after a while.

@ed...Did you have to buy new tires every 6 weeks? LOL

If I told you I bought tires every week for a while I know you wouldn't believe me. But it's true. Got smart real quick.

Cool car. I'm sure he's a bit smarter than the old man. TIRES are expensive.

Smart move and a classic good for him.

Thanks, Darci13. I think he made the right decision too.

Good choice not to go into debt in these days. I don’t know him but I am proud for him.

He's a lot smarter than his mom was at this age. (*~*)

Good for him! I bought my daughter a 1966 Mustang as her first car when she was sixteen. She pulled out the engine and put in a stock 289 and did upholstery work with her Dad. Since she had a vested interest in it she took care of that car. She still has it and uses it as a second car now.

Wow, that's awesome. A 1966 Mustang was what I wanted at the age of 16. I know he'll take good care of it.

He seems like a very levelheaded boy. Nice car. You must be so proud of him.

    He is very happy.

69 Dodge Charger new car. Not my first choice but I couldn’t get it financed otherwise. Gave it to my older brother a year later and got a VW camper….much more of a hippie car.

    I love those vw campers.

Has he learned to drive in the snow yet.  Remember , when driving on slick roads like snow put car in neutral when need to stop. Now the insurance goes up.  We just went through same thing few months ago. Son picked out a truck he liked . 1995 gmc 3500 4 door pick up. 185,000 miles , happy as can be. Me too , only $ 3500.00.Is he playing basketball. Must be same age as mine. Sophmore.  Our Cougar team not that good. Sands and BC Coyotes beat us bad.

He's a junior. I made him repeat a year. He was looking at some trucks also. I think a truck would have been good for him. At least make him less noticable to the police. LOL
