Using the BODMAS rules, 4 x (8 + 2 3/4) - 2/3
= 4 x 10 3/4 - 2/3 ------ Doing the brackets first 8 + 2 3/4 = 10 3/4
= 4 x 43/4 - 2/3 -------- Converting the mixed numeral into improper
fraction 10 3/4 = 43/4
= 43 - 2/3 --------------- Doing the multiplication 4 x 43/4 = 43
= 42 1/3 ----------------- Doing the subtraction 43 - 2/3 = 42 1/3
