My friends have kept them for 30 odd years now, they are very powerful yet friendly dogs, they are also very expensive in upkeep, unfortunatey like most large breeds their lifespan is not great, 6 to 8yrs, that is the main reason that I personally wouldn,t have one, but they are lovely dogs.
