    what causes sleepiness from eating turkey?

    There is a chemical in the turkey that causes sleepyness.

    Yes that's true, I just looked it up.
    The chemical is called L-tryptophan.

    I recently discovered that porridge made with milk was responsible for making me very drowsy in the mornings. I now have a typical aussie breakfast of 3 slices of toast with vegemite.
    no more drowsiness. ;-)

    Yes they are right turkey has that naturally in it and it does make one sleepy.  Hope your turkey was really good though.
