      Sounds like the heating element is fried. Call a repair man.

        It needs a new heating element.You need to take it to an electrician.It's not that expensive to fix. Certainly cheaper than buying a new one.

          If it's a clothes dryer. Heating element fried. Buy a new one.

            Strange that your first thought was a hairdryer and mine a clothes dryer. I don't use a hair dryer but I do laundry.

            Even stranger, I do not use a hair dryer either yet I do use a clothes dryer.

            Everyone is assuming it is an electric drier, there are gas dryers also and it could be several things call a repair man, should be able to make it like new.

                Could also be a bad fuse in your breaker.  Pull breaker and check the fuse (At least in older breakers), thus not allowing enough amp/voltage to heat.
