Why?

Are we supposed to guess?

Ok... here goes.

The name could be embarrassing for the child.... Squidley is pretty embarrassing.

The name might stick forever .. "Hi Weeblet!  How are you?"  reply, "Just fine and you, Nantwinkie?"

Zingie Nit Nit might never recognize her real name, Linda.  When the assistant in the doctor's office calls out her name she sits and stares blankly.  Zingie Nit Nit could be sitting there forever becoming part of the furniture like a lamp or a side table.  (Oh that would be sad) 

The child could become the first President of the United States of America by the name of Minkie-Bear.  Hard to take seriously but highly entertaining.

These are just a few of many ideas as to why.  I hope I am close!

I chose the names of my children because I liked them, had I liked a nickname I may have called them that in the first place
