    I am kind of new to watercolors and I was looking at your pigment guide. I don't understand your guide in terms of staining and non-staining colors

    How can one color be both staining and non-staining. At least that's how it appears to me when I look at the guide. You may list a color as lets say a 3 for tr and 4 for st. what does this mean?Cyd
