7/8 to a decimal: Divide 7 by 8 = .875 (Numerator divided by denominator)
1/5 to a decimal: Divide 1 by 5 = .20 (aka 20%)
.875 = 875/1000 (reduce....I used 25 first and got 35/40, which can reduce to 7/8)
When you divide the numerator by the denominator, you will immediately need to insert a decimal into the answer.
Each number to the right of the decimal point has a value. The first one to the right is 10th, the next is 100th, the next 1000th, the next 10,000th, the next 100,000th. You would red .875 as
eight hundred seventy-five thousandths.
To convert a decimal number to a fraction, use the number as the numerator and then (here is the good part..... for the denominator, the decimal point will be 1. For each number to the right of the decimal point, put a 0 For .875, the fraction is 875/1000.
.6 = 6/10 (reduces to 3/5)
.75 = 75/100 (reduces to 3/4)
.6535 = 6535/10,000 (reduces to 1307/2,000....I don't think it reduces further)
Anyway, that's it.
I hope this makes sense.
