    Children's Benefits
Your benefit-eligible unmarried children include those who are under the age of 18; are between 18 and 19 years of age and in an elementary or secondary school as a full-time student; or are 18 or older and disabled, with the disability staring before the age of 22. If you become a parent, including adopting a child, after you begin receiving benefits, contact Social Security so it can determine the child's eligibility for benefits.
