A lot of people are not fans of John Denver.
I became a fan in 1998 when his small, experimental plane went down in the Monterey Bay within walking distance of our house on Monterey Avenue in Pacific Grove. It happened about 1/2 mile off shore on a Sunday. We saw the police cars and the search planes, and boats in the area. Too sad.
