Several possible reasons:

1. You more than likely have viruses & possibly Trojans.

2. You need to scan your computer with a good antivirus program and a different one than the one you are using.

3. Your computer needs a tune-up big time after you are finished.

Prior to installing the new anti-virus program you have to delete your  current anti-virus program through the add and remove programs. Then go on line and and download an antivirus removal tool which will delete every single trace of your current anti-virus program. The reason is if you have even a small trace of your current anti-virus program installed in your computer one anti-virus program will conflict with the other and might allow a virus into your computer. After you install MS Essentials ensure you have enabled MS Firewall. Only one firewall can be installed in your computer. Essentials does not have one.

Do a virus scan and see if it catches as many as possible.

Run a scan to try and find Trojans or spyware with it.

Once you scan with both of the programs above you should catch everything.
