my brother passed and he had several items from my parents house that belong in the family and need to be passed down to our kids but his new wife of six or so years will not give these items up they have no past memories for her like with my family is there a law or something i can do to get these items back

somethings owned by the passing spouse belong to him/her only. they aren't necessarily passed on to the surviving spouse. if she won't give them up, you're out of luck. sorry for both, lose of your brother and for the bitch he married. this should give you a lesson. if you have something you want passed on to a loved one, write a will totally in your own handwriting and name the recipient. make sure she gets nothing.
