    I made a lotion and facial scrub with fresh fruit then added essential oils to preserve it.  The next day the container expanded and the fruit started to ferment

      The lotion needs to be pasteurised, that is to be heated to a certain temperature then cooled quickly.


      For milk the temperature is 71 deg C and is cooled in 15 secs.


      You could try something similar for your lotion then keep it in the fridge or it will ferment again sooner or later.
