      If it is diesel and not a direct injection system  the fuel line needs to be bled. Go to your fuel filter or your diesel pump  and you will find a bleed screw - you must remove all air locks to get the diesel once again flowing to re-start the engine.

        Just keep turning the engine over. The fuel pumps need to pull that gas from the tank to the injectors. The truck will start on it's own. You do not have to pump the gas pedal. That's what the injectors are for. Pumping will only flood the engine.
