      There is a lot of genetic engineering going on with seed companies. They are trying to make seed duds so to speak so that the farmer's will have to buy new seeds every year. If you bought your lemon at a store this may be the case. You may want to try getting seeds from a tree at a nursery or a neighbors yard.
