My son in Victoria on Vancouver Island, eating an ice cream cone and waving.  He is wearing an orange fleecy and an orange baseball cap... his orange phase.  He favored green before that.  These days it is anything with sharks emblazoned on the front ... colour is not an issue.

My children are expected to watch CNN in school everyday. When asked why we were told that liberals need to be heard too! This needs to stop and I Don't know how to proceed. Can you help? I'm sure parents have no idea whats going on in the public classrooms. We only asked questions during the election when my year old starting coming home with many liberal "views"!

Your classrooms are definitely different than Canada's.  That is far over the top and not in any prescribed curriculum.  .... Very odd.

I work inside the school system in my country in a volunteer basis.  What you have just described is illegal.  If what you are explaining is actually happening, it should be reported.  If this is a social sciences class... that is a different story.  Objectivity may be the lesson of the day.  I actually had a course on that subject many moons ago.

You need to share more.  No one is told to watch one type of news when studying.  As a student, you are taught to watch and read all of the news... and go from there.  That is what makes the subject of news exciting... and of course the research.

I can not imagine that very specific guidelines are not attached to your children's curriculum.  That idea is strange.

When do you finally say “THAT’S ENOUGH”?
Answers: 8 Views: 956 Rating: 6 Posted: 7 years ago

Being accused of thoughts that I am not thinking.

As if to believe no one, me in particular, is a person that does not possess the strength of growth.

.... completely done.

Also, blatant lying ticks me off.

Social media of any kind definitely has to be the THING, purely based upon the fact ... no one is witnessing the person speaking in real life.  I think Social Media is taking US down As a Global Society.  We are watching this on a most unfortunate level in real time.

It is by far, the saddest thing that I have witnessed in my life with only one exception... the inability of our children being able to play on the streets in our neighbourhoods with the other really cool kids that live there.

We are people who live in fear, are fed by fear and believe everyone else who does not feed our own personal belief patterns are in fact the enemy.

Great question Julie.  Bang on!

In summery, in my life time we have now grown to a place of fear and massive judgement.  How can this be good?   There is now no room for positive debate  ... negative thinking patterns breed like bunnies.

Here is one simple thing.  Ten years ago on my street kids were still playing street hockey.  I grew up with this.  It was amazing fun, we figured out where we could skate and play real hockey... which was by today's standards, not real at all.  We as kids, had the greatest time.  Now, no kid can do that.  They also can't bike ride like we did.  Every single thing  that kids do now is actually monitored by their (hopefully) completely responsible parent.   ... the every day story gets richer than this.

Great complex question.  My argh!  Has no ending   I am a mom, late in life so very fortunately, that is basically adapting every day.

The reinvention of self is never ending.

Is President Trump doing a good job so far?
Answers: 8 Views: 854 Rating: 6 Posted: 7 years ago

I have to weigh in on this subject because it actually is important.  This is not about whether or not Donald Trump is doing a good job as there are many facets to the United States of America political process.  What will be and what will not be law, standards, and basic procedures as voted upon.  As it stands right now, it's a Republican deal.

Basically this guy was voted into the top position of power in the United States without a resume that makes any sense.  He did not start at the bottom and work his way up.  In the real world, he would have never obtained the job.

For instance, if Donald Trump decided that he wanted to head NASA, would he be hired?  ... my guess is no.  If Donald Trump decided he wanted to run the Shedd Aquarium, applied for the job, would he be hired ... my guess is no.  If Donald Trump decided he wanted to be the Dean of Notre Dame University just because he thought that was a great idea... he would have to stand in line behind a lot of extremely qualified human beings.  The wait could be very long.

Power for thought.

I'm not sure if I can ask this here but-- When people transgender do they keep their original organs? You know the ones I mean?

With regards to all of the ancient questions brought up in the past couple of years.  This question is important.

Honestly, what would it be like living with body parts that just don't represent who you are?

I personally can't imagine having body parts cut away and having to take pills for the rest of my life so that I could be me.

This is a great question. So many avenues of conversation can open up.

This question makes me thankful.

Michelle Obama "should have been president".
Answers: 8 Views: 1056 Rating: 4 Posted: 7 years ago

It would probably be completely impossible for her to hire the quality of intellects that surround Donald Trump.  Why try?  The pool has been drained.   My favorite is Stephen Miller.

How do you like Steve Bannon, President Trump's right hand man?

What should be thought about is who Stephen K Bannon actually is.   What the man stands for and who surrounds him.

Why do most women wear only black and gray ? or just black all the time.
Answers: 10 Views: 1770 Rating: 6 Posted: 7 years ago

Black is classic, it is slimming and it goes with everything.  As a woman gets older in age, the reasonable thing is always spending less money as honestly, you don't know when your last day will be.... everything going with everything is sensible.

That is what I have been told by women who are older than me.  "Cut down on expenses.  Look good when you walk out the door."  'Simplicity' is also part of the process.

Black, grey, white and out the door you go.

Also, wash all of your whites by hand and use the product that has "Oxy" on the label.  A person does want their whites to stay white for as long as possible.

What is toe jam
Answers: 4 Views: 890 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago

It is a term that is used when a person does not bathe enough.  An accumulation of dirt, if you will, between toes.

... Please cleanse regularly.
