Can I put unglazed porcelain ceramics in the dishwasher
Answers: 2 Views: 1518 Rating: 1 Posted: 6 years ago

Unglazed pottery/ceramics are not food safe.

if the piece is vitrified, which means fired to cone for that specific clay body, it won't break down in the dishwasher.

You can also put it in the microwave and oven if it is vitrified however, it is still not food safe.

This guy wants to change his last name to Hitler. Did you ever think of changing your name?
Answers: 11 Views: 1694 Rating: 8 Posted: 7 years ago

My father named me after a book.  I have never liked my middle name not for one minute.  I have always felt it suits other people far better than me.

So yes.  I have thought about it.

I have read about these people before.  Hmmm.... :(

"Rich and white...hey, that's just not right!" Thoughts"?

I am with Obi Wan... we don't know the entire story.  How many things could have happened up to that point?

I can list 20 off the top of my head.  All very strange and all very factual in the real sense of affairs.  It is about the tipping point and never wanting to go there.  This woman obviously went there.

These subjects are looking a bit small right about now. ... Don't you think?

When was the last time that you told somebody that "it is/was my fault"?
Answers: 5 Views: 765 Rating: 3 Posted: 7 years ago

Last week.  I research too much and to the Nth degree.  I need to allow people catch up. In my head it's , "What? You don't know that?" ... In reality, Of course they don't know that.  Why would they?  My fault entirely.

“Skin comes in different colors just like hair and eyes and every shade is beautiful.” Sums it up great, doesn't it?

Great link and a valuable message.  This story is important in our world, over here in BC Land.  Thanks Clonge.

I volunteer five days a week.  Children really do see the world this way.  I feel blessed and thankful to be in a position to witness what inclusion really means.  Children just see the other really cool kid.  ... and, not just on a colour level, on an 'everything' level.  Sometimes they ask about colour of skin because it is different.  If it is explained in terms of pigment, they understand it right away and then get on not caring about skin that is not the same as their's.  ... Magic.  The world just became bigger.

Which is your favourite on-line shopping store?

The Gap and Old Navy.  The sales and discounts make clothing for my son very affordable.  ... he is one stylish little man :)

I personally shop for my own clothing.

should recycling be mandetory?
Answers: 5 Views: 1211 Rating: 1 Posted: 12 years ago

it is not mandatory where I live.  However, there exists two neighbours on my street who don't recycle and one neighbour who does not pick up dog poop. This is an old historical street by small western Canadian standards.    Those people receive the evil eye.

This is our planet.  Take care of it.  "Give a Hoot!  Don't Pollute!"   At, least as little as possible.

what do I do first?

Wonder.

The five W's... "Who, What, When, Where and Why" all fall under "Wonder".  I vote for the short cut.  Six really great letters.   Apply positive creativity, then you will have magic.

Do you socialize with your co-workers outside of work?
Answers: 9 Views: 931 Rating: 7 Posted: 7 years ago

Yes, always and tonight as we are going out for dinner with a co-worker and her husband.  We are all sailing on the same ship.  One of my very best friends is a woman I worked with for nine years.

I have only had to fire two people and both of them were choices that I made by giving them the benefit of the doubt.  I thought they could rise to the occasion.

I am very fortunate to have known and still know some pretty fantastic people through work.

Pet retail is very personal.  Not only do you have to understand your customers you have to develop very strong relationships with staff members.  That is key.  Truly great pet stores just don't just open their doors, they make sure they are part of the community.  Every person involved and pet for that matter, count. ... even if that pet is a little Neon Tetra.

This is a great question because now that I have given it some thought, I have had the privilege of meeting and knowing some amazing people.  We had one young man that worked for us who came from a beautiful family and went on to become a marine biologist.  He paid for his education with hockey cards given to him from his uncle.  I had a girl working for me that came from Columbia.  Her family was/is extremely special.  That girl is now a scientist.  The last time I spoke to her father she was working for an environmentally responsible Think Tank.  I have worked with people who became teachers, went on to own their own stores and had customers that had their first date in our store, proposed in our store then went on to actually own their own  aquarium store based upon our product.  ... One of my staff went on to become a veterinarian.  ... That woman is exceptionally bright.

I even had one staff member who was and still is the funniest person in real life that I am sure, I will ever meet.  She does not know this, however... I am still laughing.
