What product is good for cleaning stains on a hard wood ( oak ) floor ?
Answers: 1 Views: 1076 Rating: 1 Posted: 6 years ago

I have hardwood throughout this home.  The flooring is fir and over 100 years old.  I use Dawn and bleach.  That is it.  I don't have any stains that stick, except for the one upstairs in my son's bedroom where a child 50 years ago set fire to his dresser.  ... oddly that really did happen.  He also stuck massive tacks into the flooring that are still there.  Every once in a while a family member comes by and gives us a bit more history.  They had 13 children.  ... One had to go Rogue :)

He actually is a bit odd to this day.  We met him about five years ago when his children were out for Halloween in this neighbourhood.   The man admitted to setting fire to this house.  Apparently it wont burn down. .... Good old girl.

The fire stain is the only stain on my floors.  Bleach and Dawn works and I can tell you, kids run through this glorious old bird each and every day.  Kids make a big fat mess.

Are we over reacting to the issue of some statues coming down in America?
Answers: 5 Views: 748 Rating: 3 Posted: 6 years ago

The statue of Robert E Lee was on it's way to a museum.  Heather Heyer died.  This is a serious subject.  In most civil countries we do not walk around with Tiki tourches because that symbol invokes horrible thoughts.

We have a great community friend who died last year because he left his cell phone in his truck.  He walked back to his truck only to discover that someone was stealing the cell phone.  The thief killed this dear man with a vehicle. Smashed him to death over a cell phone.  (It's true.  ... not making it up)

That monument is part of American history.  An embarrassing and unfortunate part of American history.  Like the Holocaust Museum in Berlin, these reminders of how people thought and the things they did should be placed where we, as human beings, can view, read about and completely understand where some of our thinking patterns came from.

Now, one lovely woman is dead and the rest of us get to think about it.  The statue... I doubt very seriously that anyone with a thinking mind ever wants to see again.

He'd like to come and meet us But he thinks he'd blow our minds....................

He made up a world.  He developed music and sang about it.  He freely admitted that he was largely stoned at the time.  Jim Morrison did the same thing.  Kurt Cobain was a totally stoned genius.

This is not a subject that does not apply to writers, comedians, or artists of any kind.  They walk to the edge of personality, express themselves as they see fit.. the minute they are sober it seems to get boring.  Human beings are complex.

David Bowie... the resilience of the man is actually the art.

*Not to discriminate as many great artists have been sober for their entire life times.

How is your day today and how are you feeling?
Answers: 7 Views: 1634 Rating: 6 Posted: 6 years ago

Good.  The Air Show has ended.  Our skies have cleared after a small rain... there was a lot of smoke because of the fires in the interior.  We are going to the last meeting tonight before half the block decides how to sell the houses, (OCP change in our neighbourhood)... and as weird luck may have it, my husband might, (small odd ball chance), get a week off so that we can discover our 'brave new world' of where we are going to live next.

Thanks for asking. :)

Do you like music festivals and who have you seen at one?
Answers: 6 Views: 1221 Rating: 3 Posted: 6 years ago

Yes.  Lots.  I lived in Edmonton which is considered Festival City.  Matchbox 20, Everclear, Our Lady Peace, I Mother Earth, (dating me), and one thousand others.  I also have had booths at all sorts of outdoor venues.  ... a lot of names I can't remember.  The Caribbean Music Festivals are by far the most fun.  "Everybody dance!"

China does not want United States to bomb N. Korea. If U.S. does so first, China says they are on side of N.Korea. What do you think?

China didn't exactly say that.

What is the color of your favorite shoes?
Answers: 7 Views: 1216 Rating: 6 Posted: 7 years ago

Red, red and red.  I have three favourite pairs.  One of my very best memories was when my Aunt took me out shopping and we bought red shoes.  I showed everyone on the bus and it just stuck.  I love red shoes. I was three.

I am going to have to apply Gorilla Glue to one pair as I blew the seams on them and their lovely black laced up brother pair in Halifax, the 'Walking City'.  ... My shoe cobbler shakes his head when I walk through the door.  Loosing good red shoes is painful... along with the extremely cute black pair.  I think I am going to put them both in frames.  A lot of life was lived in those really great shoes.  I purchased both pairs on sale at my favourite shoe store.

I am in cute shoe mourning right now.  ... Weepsy weep.

Should everyone have a right to vote?  Yes.  Vote on whatever you want.

There are penguins who are homosexual on this planet.  I am certain if we wait long enough we can also vote on that issue.

Gay happens.  It is not abnormal or against the law.

Love doesn't have a vote.  It just is.

''Two women in the same kitchen never works'' True or False.
Answers: 8 Views: 1356 Rating: 1 Posted: 6 years ago

False.  We often have two or three women in the kitchen and one man... it all works out well especially on our International Christmas Eve.  This year we are celebrating Bulgaria.  ... We have done Spain, Greece, Germany and England.

We vote on the country to celebrate on Christmas Eve for the upcoming year.  It is hilarious and special.

If you could meet and shake hands with any famous person in the world, who would it be and why?
Answers: 9 Views: 1367 Rating: 9 Posted: 6 years ago

Martin Luther King because of what he did and what he famously said, "I have a dream.".  ... That sums it up as far as I am concerned.  One voice.  One heart. One love.
