Great reminders from your other friends. Do you have enough plates, napkins, flatware (all disposable, of course). If you are grilling, do you have the propane, or charcoal and lighter fluid. Do you have the music lined up, speakers wired?
Actually, the very first thing I thought of was if you have a couple (2-4?) big trash cans, with liners, to place conveniently.
Oh, and a safe place for your felines, parking that won't impose on neighbors, and do you know when things have to quiet down?

Cashews, Brazil nuts, almonds, pistachios, peanuts are my favorites to eat by the handful. Walnuts and pecans are good, but better in baked foods, or salads!
