it's a nonstarter with me. With a few exceptions, I avoid spices because for my taste they diminish the natural flavor of good food. Hence, 'One man's meat is another man's poison', and for me, it's the latter.
Cows don't get milk, they produce it and they are, in more senses than one, milked for all they are worth. More and more cows are living a life of misery in an environment which is totally alien to their instincts. Many spend their entire lives on a factory farm and have never seen a meadow or anything else for that matter. Do you care?
Too early, too early? certainly, it is too early, too early by a mile. If I were in your shoes I would visit this restaurant and let the owner or headwaiter know your displeasure of the matter. You can also check if there are any Christmas dishes on the menu, and if not, why not?
Good luck and Bon appetit.
This question instantly reminded me of the times I visited a funfair where I was attracted by that unmistakable aroma of freshly made candy floss. My mouth is already watering, yum yum!
Cordless shoes in summer, and tissues in winter.
I was 8 years old when in 1951 I was admitted to a Sanatorium for Tuburculosis. It was a long time (2 years), and the main treatment was a daily injection of Streptomycin in either my upper leg or my PO. There were many days when it was painful due to the needles being thicker than those of today. Since 2012 I have attended the Docter's surgery every quarter to give a blood sample, and in the main, it's no problem.
Gracie Fields Sally
One day in 1945, when I was but a wee toddler, I was sitting on our living-room floor playing with my toys. Our pets, Nutty the cat and Sally the dog were, as usual, keeping me company. The radio, playing somewhat unobtrusively in the background, suddenly came to life. It was Gracie Fields singing perhaps her most loved song 'Sally'. Every time she sang the name 'Sally', our dog would give a long howl, so it's not surprising Nutty made a bolt for the door.
That day has remained indelibly on my mind.
Since the age of two, I have been fascinated by the feline species, they are wonderful creatures, I wouldn't want to live without one. Does that make me a Catholic?
.......... when you start forgetting you have Alzheimer's.
I would point out to you the quote above is from my wife.
My wife actively participates in the welfare of Alzheimer patients and I often accompany her on her visits.

My time on aka has regrettably come to an end and it is not without sadness that I say Farewell to you all. I feel it is the right time to depart and take a different path.
Wishing you lots of more fun and pleasure on this Forum and above all else, something no amount of money can buy, good health.
