is diabetic neuropathy more common in type 1 or type 2 diabetes?
I am a type 2 diabetic. My doctor thinks I may be exhibiting signs of neurpathy in my back. I know this is uncommon because it usually shows up in the lower extremities. However, i am not sure if his diagnosis would be accurate for a type 2 diabetic.

Progressive axonal atrophy and loss is expressed to a larger extent in type 1 diabetes.

thank you for your response. I checked out the link and will have to have my wife explain the medical terms to me. She is an RN, who is also NOT convinced the doctor is accurate either.
