CRB check question?

O.K so it transpires last night that a friend of mine`s 22 year old son who has not been in trouble with the police before..(As far as we are told),Was given an on the spot fine some 3-4 years ago for a shoplifting offense)!...He now needs a basic level CRB check for a responsible job working with vulnerable youths!....Does anyone know if this will show up on the check?..I know there are different levels of CRB checks...He is basically a good kid who messed up!...Anyone?...(For the U.K..am not sure if the checks vary for other countries)?..Thanks.

In Scotland this would not show on an ordinary check but it would if it was an enhanced check, that said, our laws are different from England and Wales.

Thanks ROMOS..that`s really helpful!..Looks like he could get the all clear as I`d suspect he`d have paid the fine outright to stop his parents from finding out?!..I`ll pass the link on thanks..God..who hasn`t done something stupid at that age or any! :-0
