    Instructions
    1
Download the newest firmware from your MP3 player's manufacturer's website and save the file to your desktop.

    2
Click the "Start" button in the Windows taskbar. Click "Control Panel."

    3

Click the "System" icon. If you're using Windows XP, click the "Hardware" tab and click "Device Manager." If you're using Windows Vista/7, simply click "Device Manager." The Device Manager will open.

    4
Click the "+" icon next to "Portable Devices." A list of MP3 players and similar devices connected to your computer will be displayed. Right-click the name of your MP3 player and click "Properties."

    5
Click the "Driver" tab. Click "Update Driver." The Hardware Update Wizard will open. Click "Next."

    6
Select "Search for the best drivers in these locations," click the "Browse" button, select the driver you downloaded in Step 1 and click "Open." Click "Next" to apply the new firmware.
