....honor and appreciation for their bravery

    ....never forget

I love a good story and there are plenty to be found amongst these clips. I have plenty to look up the next rainy (ha!) day. A great deal of death, the numbers are surprising. My dad was ready to go but was dispatched to Korea to fight the war there. I've only heard the minimum of the tales he had, he was a most humble of men, but the few illustrated trials of war in a most unflattering light. They were gruesome. Nothing is pretty in a war....

    War is hell

We just returned from the Anzac service in Villers-Bretonneux,it was an experience i will not forget,we sat there for hours in the freezing wind and rain, and we were rugged up,and those soldiers in army uniform were fighting and dying in the mud and rain and cold,,the men from yesteryear were what you have to call real men,we may never see their like again..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..""""

reminds me of Arlington Military cemetery in Virginia, USA

Any war boasts unfortunate statistics. Thankful for the brave men and women who serve(d) our country.

Of course there were, Hector! My youngest son is in the US Army, visiting with his wife from Texas for a couple weeks. I hadn't seen him in 10 months...tend to have a narrow focus.
I'm sorry about that. There were young soldiers in Italy standing guard in several locations during my trip, reminding me of the sacrifice being made to protect hearth and home, family and visitor welcomed.
My comment wasn't meant to be exclusive. :-)

I see the concentration camps were built before the War, so how come the Allies did nothing to help the Jews until after Germany capitulated?

Check out Youtube for Richard Dimbleby's account of the opening of Auschwitz in 1945.
