Scotlands First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, wants an independent Scotland to be a member of the EU, I have a dilemma.
    terryfossil 1

From what i am hearing Roy,even if Scotland becomes independent.the EU does not want Scotland in the EU,,apparently Scotland's main trade is oil,,and that is running out,,i heard that on tv today from England..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

As an Englishman I have no problem with Scotland being independent or Scotland staying in the EU , if that's what the Scottish people want. But if she thinks she can interfere in the outcome of the recent referendum by trying to block it, she needs to think again. Here in England the vote to leave was 60% plus in most areas , she would not be welcome this side of the boarder if she tries that on, ( not that she is now). Its strange how you see those who didn't get their own way trying to block the course of democracy.
Some are even calling for a second referendum, is that their idea of democracy, if they don't get their own way have the best of three.

G'day Sunny,,the ones that want another vote have enough votes to put the question to parliament,,but i am pretty sure parliament will say no," you had you vote and majority wins"..and it is beginning to look like the leave vote is not going to hurt our stock market too much,,i guess i will know the answer to that tomorrow..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

Wasn't that a vote of the citizens, not of the Parliament, who can't possibly represent the individual wills of the people? Our elected personnel certainly dont!
    ROMOS

It was a vote from all the eligible voters in Britain Pyllis, we voted by a majority to leave the EU which is great by me, Sturgeon thinks because the majority of people in Scotland voted to stay in that she can get EU leaders to overturn the result (she is wrong) , we live in a democracy and the people have spoken, I personally want independence for Scotland but I don't want us in the EU.
We sell a shed load of Whisky to nearly every country in the World Terry, long term it's worth more to us than oil.
    Bob/PKB

ROMOS, I thought so, though Terry seems to think Parliament gets to overrule a national vote.
Is it my imagination, or does she look like an airbrushed Hi-lie-ary Clinton?
