        No, not David Niven. Letterman is a talk show host. He was followed by Craig Ferguson, until Ferguson left. Know HIM by any chance?

          I missed the final show but I would have liked to have seen it. I watched David Letterman for years, but I got bored of him about 10 years ago, he stopped being funny IMO. I loved watching Craig Ferguson, he's from Scotland. :))

                  Can't stand the guy, he encourages laughs at his guest's expense,only know of one guest who played him at his own game, best show ever, Madonna was great , i would like to see this show again, i prefer  ex. host Jay Leno, a sincere likeable guy.

                        Late night talk show host out of New York. He was broadcast all over Canada and the U.S. and finally retired. You had to enjoy sarcastic humor to like him. (Surprisingly, I do and did!) lol
