I just "discovered" an English pop star who has been "around" for over 50 years, was big in England, but not in the U.S.

Oh yes , our Cilia. Step inside love, Your my world, Anyone who had a heart, Something tells me, Love of the loved, and many more hits. She came from Liverpool, at the same time as the Beatles, she was discovered by them, and was managed by the same manager Brian Epstein, and then later by Bobby Willis, who she also married. They stayed together for 30 years until his death. She's well loved and admired hear in the UK.

Of course, a lot of British stars found success in the U.S., like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Herman's Hermits, Petula Clark, etc. Apparently, she wasn't promoted. Any idea(s) why?
She had shows in New York in the 60s and was successful, but she got homesick and then Brian Epstein died soon after she came home, she became more of a TV personality in the 70s 80s & 90s in reality game shows etc, She is retired now but makes the odd TV appearance, her early life story was depicted on TV last year.

Oh yes Roy, how could I forget Alfie, one of her best songs. Don't think we'll mention Savile the perve, I always thought he was a wiedo , didn't you?

Have a look at the utube link that Romos put on Julie. I'm sure you'll like her. As Tommy says, she was lovely and a great singer.
