    Accidents anyone?

Hello everyone, most of you know I'm mostly hit and miss here but do enjoy getting on here when I can. I guess my question is how many of you have had automobile accidents? and how bad? Reason I ask is because I've just had the first one in thirty years. Last week when I was going home from work, stopped at a crossing waiting in line I looked in the mirror,,, I didn't even have time to say ohhh sh#@!! He shoved me a little over 100 ft. Some how I missed the cars in front of me. All said and done I was off work for bout a week and still feel like crap. Docs and the chiropractor have been pretty good, At least the bone cracker got the headaches to stop, but both said its gonna be awhile before your back to normal.. Anyways Im off the meds tonite, started the Jack Daniels, ran out of that, so now its W Virginia shine... And I do apologize for any comments, answers, actions, tonite ahead of time.. And can somebody tell me how to post pics on here from my puter?

Posting pictures....another way to do it.
    1) Choose picture and right click.
    2) See "copy" and left click.
    3) Return to question and see "Add New Answer" box.
    4) See "mountain icon" and left click on it.
    4) Now see a new box "Insert/Edit Image".
    5) Right click, see "paste" and click on it.
    6) You now have a series of numbers in that space.
    7) Left click on "OK" and your picture is there!
    8) If you wish to write something below your picture, move cursor to below the picture. If you wish to use BOLD print, click on the large "B" on top line..
    9) Be patient....keep trying if it doesn't work the first time. Good luck!

Been in a couple of nasty ones, ironically it was with the same driver in the same works van, we called him "lucky Jim", he had actually written off four of his own cars also, none of these "accidents" were his fault, he always seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, he was also an excellent driver, fortunately the two that I was in only resulted in minor injuries and a few days off work, unfortunately for Jim he was killed alongside his wife when an out of control 18 wheeler crossed the central reservation and struck his car a few years ago now, sad but true story.

Keep well D, always good to hear from you.

It is a very sad tale, but glad that you have no lasting injuries...

got one too, and bad knees, mine is arthritis. I take a couple of anti-inflammatory tabs each day, they help.

My car was totaled almost 3 years ago in front of Wendy's. I was driving on the busiest street in town driving the speed limit ( 30 miles per hour) when a truck driven by a 17 year old turned in front of me.  He wasn't hurt and I all I had was a bruise on my shoulder from the seat belt strap.

I'm glad you're okay and I hope you get all the kinks worked out soon. As far as posting pics I'll leave this to the experts to explain to you.

Well in this case, it is very good to hear from you!  Always look out for the other guy as they say.  Holy Moly! No, I've never been in an accident but then, I haven't been driving for the last 11 years.  Stay well my friend.....

Thanks Julie, I think the biggest thing I have to remember is, I'm not a young pup anymore, Its getting harder to bounce right back.

i have been involved in a about 6 accidents in my lifetime and 3 in the last three years. I might cry if i think about it too much. Nobody got hurt, were not my fault. People drive like mad men in my area.

I have fortunately, never been involved in a car accident. I've seen some very serious accidents happen right in front of me though. One was with a car and a motorcycle. The motorcycle driver flew right over the car and hit a building on the other side of the street. Made me feel sick! He was seriously injured but recovered fully. I've seen at least six or eight cars go into the ditch in front of me. I've also come very close to being hit, several times....usually by cars racing through red lights or drivers busy texting their friends about their fantastic date last weekend.           :(

I had an accident when I was 19 yrs old in 1966. I was driving too fast in a built up area, and went sailing through a red light, just didn't see it.  I taught me a lesson,  made me keep to the speed limit in built up areas after that.  Lucky for me and the other passengers, and people in the other car no one was injured. The roads are so busy nowadays , speed is not a good idea  especially in built up areas.

Been in a few fender benders, one bad one years ago, my father in law was my passenger, someone came into our lane we pulled over as far as possible and waited for him to hit us.  It was nearly head on, and the driver awoke as he was to hit us, steered away, hit again with rear end.  Our old 1971 Bonneville (built like a tank) was totaled.  The left front and front end were toast.  My passenger hit windshield broke ribs, scraped heart with a broken rib.  He died a year later of the complications at age 63.  The other driver was, ready for this, AN EYE DOCTOR!   And he could not stay in his lane, or see a 4000 lb car!  He had a gash on forehead, and was a bit drunk and limber...  I had a bad back and neck injury, and had to put out the engine fire after lifting the twisted hood.  I still have some residuals of the injury to my old scoliosis formed (which was at birth)  back...

Ducky lucky for you.  Keep that safety record up. Accidents are a pain even if it's not you fault.  That's what happens to me I get hit. An 18 year old beautiful girl was late for work.  She ran right into the back of me.  Her dad's insurance paid for everything and rented me a car for a week. A man hit me this October going 50 in a 30 mile per hour zone.  I may go to court on this.  three years ago a lady ran a red light arrow crossing in front of me, doing a left turn. My car was totaled.  We were lucky. I had a kid with me that i was working with.
