    Predictions for winter ?

Everything is going same as last year as far as weather patterns looks like. The only difference is the last cold spell couple weeks ago. The cold arctic air is beginning to build and circulate further east from normal. A dip in the jet stream takes cold air out of arctic and keeps it from building up. My prediction not as many bad cold days as last year. But more precipitation, as it has already started here in Texas and southwest.  Its just my guess.

    Now I'm shivering!!! ch-ch-ch-chattering t-t-teeth! ;D

I'm going to take a wild guess and say, lots of really cold temperatures and lots of snow!           :)

Ducky, Where did you ever get that idea ? ;-)

West Coast will be mild with the coldest temperatures being in January for about 3 days .... that's my pipe dream!  LOL

My prediction is 60 inches of snow and 20 degree temps!  This is for my region(SW Michigan! ) The snow and temp is for the entire winter. From December until March!  We should remember to check this prediction in March!  This prediction will be averaged out! This is a hopeful thing as I don't think I want a repeat of last winter!

    I'll bet that you'll experience "winter" long before December....just a hunch. :(

It does.....as long as I keep my eyes closed. :)

My cats have ultra thick coats and we did get that cold spell early.  Got 4-6 inches day before yesterday so we’re at a surplus for Sept.  My Jack Bean plant is beginning to brown for no good reason.  I think it’s going to be a colder winter.  I hope it’s nice in DEC ‘cause that’s when Phyllis is coming……..

We had little rain or fog last winter.  We can do without the fog, but sure need the precipitation.   There's been talk........

Winter?? What's a winter?  I'm pretty sure we don't get any winters down here. Endless summer.

Well, poor you! lol No sloshing around in mud, trudging through snow, freezing off body parts that we won't mention here....
    Tommyh

That's the thing about snow. It's nice to look at on Xmas cards etc.But that's it! LOL
    Bob/PKB

    Totally agree with you.

Ahhh, you two don't know what you're missing, here in Canada in the land of beauty....no droughts, no fires, no mudslides, no hurricanes...what's a "little" snow? :)
    Bob/PKB

    Endless slushies?

No slushies at all until the spring melt off. Cold temperatures keep our snow crispy, white and piled high. Jealous? :))
    Tommyh

2 Things we don't get here Ducky. Mudslides,(There's not enough water to make mud) & hurricanes,(We call them cyclones & they spin in the opposite direction.) LOL

@Tommy...Ah, no mud and ONLY cyclones. That's better! LOL!
    Bob/PKB

No, no, no. I love to be snug and warm when it's cold outside, but truly do not "do" snow. How can you stand to not play golf for all that time? Or are there "indoor" golf courses? (There's a thought....a crazy one).

No indoor courses....just makes us appreciate spring, summer and fall....really appreciate it. :)
    Bob/PKB

We are basking in 80 degrees today, and the only thing that would make it any nicer is to look across the street and see the Pacific Ocean and a clean sandy beach!

Would you believe it is 74* F here! This of course, is above seasonal for us but absolutely beautiful with these temps and our autumn leaves. Love fall.
    Bob/PKB

We don't get enough fall color here, though the stone fruit trees are beautiful...I call them "Cheeto Trees" when they turn that brilliant orange.
    Bob/PKB

    Breathtaking, Ducky....I've GOT to move!

All I know is that it'll freeze the river, it'll make you shiver, and bring the spring. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgd8XvA-ZOA

Like an old farmer that lived in back of us said,  ............" We'll know better in the spring "

Rain last weekend filled a reservoir here from .01 percent to 46 percent full. At one point 25 years ago  this lake was over 100 feet deep. Drought over past 25 years + left it at 6 foot deep couple weeks ago. Now just under 50 foot deep.

Weather is amazing. Saw "Mystery at the Museum" last night, featuring a story about a locust invasion many years ago spurred by a 3-4 year drought. Now, that particular locust is actually extinct, because of the weather

What do you think this is? A weather station!! We do have other station to predict or forecast your local weather in your area in case your not aware? now normally we have snow in winter and a whole lot of it!

    zorro

I know not a weather station . Its just a question for people to answer, what they think. I think we here in texas would get more precipitation than normal. Two days after I made that statement we got over 14 inches of rain . Enjoy your snow this winter!!
