When I first signed on to aka I never looked at anyone's profile page to see who had an upcoming birthday and I could never imagine making a birthday thread or karma congratulations thread for anyone a couple of years back because believe it or not I was very shy and worried about messing it up.
I have noticed myself that the birthday congratulations threads seem to have slowed down for a while, but I believe most people enjoy them and it's a way for all the old members of aka to come together, show some support for each other and have a fun time.
At the beginning of the new year I went through the aka members list and wrote down the dates of everyone who shows to be having a birthday in January with the exception of a couple that show being born in 1900 or some obscure year because my guess is that these people may not want to tell anyone the actual month of their birthday and because there are so many in January compared to birthday's in other months.
It's unfortunate that some of the birthday's of the regular members of aka have been passed over and I want to apologize to anyone who I have missed. I will do my best to keep up with as many upcoming birthdays this year as possible, but it's really up to all of us to watch for these such events and anyone can put a thread out for another member, never think that someone else will just do it because it may not get done.

What? I think his birthday is in July and so is Bob's because mine is in July and when I was looking up birthdays the two of them stuck in my head. Is this another one of those confusing issues with which country places the day instead of the month first? I'm so confused!

Naw! No place is bigger ’n Texas…! And we have the biggest of everything. Except for poisonous snakes, ours are puny compared to yours……….
Yes Julie the boat people are a problem.We are currently at a Mexican standoff with the Indonesian Gov't over the issue of turning the boats back.Apparently a couple of our navy vessells ventured a little to far into their sovereign waters when they were escorting some boats back.
