    Hectare is a metric system area unit and widely used globally in the measurement of land, agriculture, forestry. It equals to 10,000 square meters which is calculated by multiplying the length of each side of the square land, 100 meters * 100 meters. The abbreviation is "ha".
    Acre is used in different systems as a unit of area. The international and survey acres are the mostly used ones but the difference between them is very small which is 0.016 sq. meters. It’s mostly used to measure the land. An acre is about 40% of hectare. The abbreviation is "ac".
