    how long does a fish have to be to kept?

    It depends on how fresh it was when you got it and at what temperature it is being kept.Of course you can freeze seafood to keep it longer but in a refrigerator it should only be kept at coldest temperature or on ice for a few (2) days. Cook and eat fresh fish as soon as possible...this is when it tastes best! Peace.

    do you mean, How long can it be kept.  Because, of course, it is best used as fresh as possible, without storage, catch, clean and eat, no storage, and if you must store, freeze it, it keeps better than storing for a few days.  Fish spoils quickly, and even if not spoiled, it isn't half as good as day caught!
